Rigpa’s retreat centres Lerab Ling in southern France, Dzogchen Beara in south-west Ireland and Garab Ling Blueys in Australia offer inspirational environments and conditions to practice in the environment of retreat.
We warmly welcome everyone, whether you’re new to the path or an experienced practitioner, to take the opportunity to practice meditation, accumulate your Ngöndro or other practices in the environment of retreat with the personal guidance of experienced practitioners.
Lerab Ling, France
Lerab Ling is set in a striking mountain landscape around an hour from Montpellier, southern France. The centre is home to a traditional Tibetan Buddhist temple that features a 7m high Buddha statue, created in the likeness of the statue of Shakyamuni Buddha in Bodhgaya. Lerab Ling is also home to a vibrant resident community of monastics and lay practitioners.
For Buddhist practitioners of all schools and traditions, Lerab Ling offers opportunities to explore, and deepen your practice and study through our programmes and in practice retreat.
Over the years, Lerab Ling has been blessed by visits from some of the greatest masters of our time including His Holiness the Dalai Lama (in 2000 and 2008), His Holiness Sakya Trizin, Penor Rinpoche, Dodrupchen Rinpoche, Trulshik Rinpoche and Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok and many other contemporary Buddhist teachers.

Dzogchen Beara, Ireland
Rigpa’s long-term retreat centre on the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, in south-west Ireland, Dzogchen Beara offers a unique year-round programme of weekend retreats and seminars. Set on the wild and beautiful Beara Peninsula in south-west Ireland, the centre sits high on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with breathtaking views of sea and sky.
The Dzogchen Beara Temple, completed in 2024, was built in the style of a traditional Tibetan monastery. The Temple is a place for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism and in particular of the Dzogchen Longchen Nyingtik lineage.
For experienced practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism, Dzogchen Beara offers personal retreats and group nyenpa retreats of varying durations.
Garab Ling Blueys, Australia
Garab Ling Blueys is a small retreat house at Blueys Beach, NSW Australia. Rigpa students from the Meditation, Ngondro or Dzogchen mandalas can rent this superb retreat environment for self-facilitated group or personal retreats. The accommodation is also available for others to rent through AirBnB here.
